RevGen · For businesses and portfolio companies

Decide where to grow. Then find the revenue and profit in your own data.

RevGen connects corporate strategy to the systems the business runs on. It helps leadership choose where to grow, shows commercial teams where the opportunities are, and tells everyone how performance compares with the plan.

Two complementary uses

Strategy sets the direction. Operational data finds the opportunities.

Use one · Strategy

Decide where the business should grow.

RevGen analyses markets, segments and competitors alongside the company’s own results, and recommends where to focus. Each recommendation states its evidence, its assumptions and its expected effect on revenue and profit, so leadership can challenge it before adopting it.

Use two · Operations

Find the opportunities in your own data, and act on them.

Connected to CRM and ERP data, RevGen identifies cross-sell, renewal, pricing and margin opportunities customer by customer. It proposes actions to the people who own the accounts and tracks results against plan.

What RevGen does

From the boardroom question to the account plan.

  • Corporate strategy

Market, sector and competitor analysis combined with your own performance data, to show which segments, products and geographies deserve investment and which do not.
  • Revenue opportunities

Customers likely to buy more, renewals at risk, and new accounts that resemble your best ones. Each arrives with the reasoning: why this customer, why now, and what the evidence is.
  • Profitability

Where margin is being made and lost: discounting, cost to serve, product and customer mix. RevGen ranks opportunities by contribution, not only by revenue.
  • Business performance

Revenue, margin, pipeline and cash indicators tracked against plan, with exceptions explained rather than merely reported. Ask questions of the data in plain English and see the workings behind each answer.
  • Support for commercial teams

Account briefings, proposals and outreach drafts prepared for the account owner to review, in the customer’s language where needed. Nothing goes to a customer without a person’s approval.

Questions leadership teams ask

Before you book a demonstration.

Is RevGen a sales and marketing tool?
That is one part of it. RevGen starts a level higher, with where the business should grow and where it makes its money, and then carries that through to individual customers and to performance against plan.
What data does it need?
RevGen works from your CRM and your ERP or finance system. The first step in any deployment is agreeing which systems, which fields and what level of access, and matching customer records between them so the analysis can be trusted.
How is this different from a BI dashboard?
A dashboard reports what happened. RevGen explains where and why it happened, proposes what to do about it, and shows the records behind the proposal. You can also ask it questions directly, in plain English.
Will it act on its own?
Analysis runs automatically. Actions that reach a customer or change a system of record wait for approval by a named person. See how approvals work.
How would a private equity owner use it?
Across portfolio companies, to support the value-creation plan and to see how each company is tracking between board packs. Read our piece on monitoring portfolio companies between reporting cycles.

Bring a business question. See what RevGen does with it.

We will take one question from insight to proposed action, and show the evidence at each step.
